Just wanted to say huge thank you to the drivers of the two lorries from Burcombe Haulage who were actually kind enough to slow down when we were riding through Bray Shop on Wednesday evening.
Such a shame the traffic coming the other way didn’t slow down not even seeing a small child on a small pony and with us wearing our bright neon jackets slows them down.
I want to say thank you to the two lorry drivers, much appreciated guys!!! “I thought it is nice for you to hear something good instead of complaints!!
We are delighted to announce that following a recent audit we have been awarded The Pallet Network (TPN) Certificate of Excellence after achieving a pass of 95%.
Congratulations to all our people involved with TPN on this achievement.
We are pleased to report that in December 2015 both Carina and Nicola Batten passed and have been awarded their International CPC qualification to become nominated CPC holders within the company.
This is in addition to Stuart Wilkie our Transport Manager who also holds this qualification.
Amy Weaver, 7 and daughter of Burcombe Haulage driver Martin Weaver, has helped children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment by having her own hair cut off for the Princess Trust.
The Princess Trust is a charity that provides real hair wigs to boys and girls across the UK & Ireland and Amy has raised over £1,000 with many at Burcombe Haulage helping with sponsorship.
Each wig costs around £350 so Amy has helped to make three wigs for this very special cause.
Well done Amy!
On the 14th May our colleague Leesa Clements is to fulfil a lifetime’s ambition by doing a sky dive in aid of the Hugs for Henry charity.
Henry, now 6, was diagnosed with cancer at just 3 years of age and his story is told at the following website –
Leesa is trying to raise £500 for this very worthwhile charity and if you would like to support her and Henry please send cheques made out to Burcombe Haulage Ltd at St Dominick, Saltash, Cornwall PL12 6SH and we will make sure that all funds received will go towards this cause.
Good luck to Leesa and we will update this site with how she gets on in May.
Through the sale of cakes and buns in the office we are pleased to have raised £122.11 for the Marie Curie nurses charity.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to the money collected.

On the 9th August 2014 the Directors and staff of Burcombe Haulage Ltd welcomed over 380 friends, neighbours and business colleagues to celebrate 30 years of trading.
To make the evening go with a swing there was music from Joey The Lips, live pig racing and plenty of food & drink.
The evening was a great success with over £3,000 being raised for our nominated local charities which include St Dominic Parish Council, Mencap, Botchill House and Caradon Hockey Club.
We would like to thank everybody that joined us on the night for their generosity in supporting these causes.
